GOLDEN MARBLE ACTION DAY
It's
time for SCEC to plan the third annual protest of the ad
industry's
Golden Marble
Awards, which reward successful marketing to children
regardless
of the consequences of that marketing.
We're
going to need lots of help.
If you're interested and willing to volunteer to help with
the event,
please
contact us at scecC@jbcc.harvard.edu.
Watch
future newsletters for specific ways you can help.
WHAT
DID YOU THINK OF GOLDEN MARBLE ACTION DAY 2001?
We
want your impressions of last September’s “How Marketing
Harms Children”
Symposium, the Golden Marble protest, and our “Have You
Lost Your Marbles”
Awards.
Whether or not you attended the New York City events, we
need to know
how
effective you think the various components of the effort
were–plus your
ideas
for future events. Take a moment (it really will take only a
moment)
to
fill out our brief questionnaire at www.commercialexploitation.com/evaluation_form.htm
SCEC
LOBBYING CONGRESS
The
coalition is also forming a working group to plan a Capitol
Hill lobbying day.
This is a chance for SCEC members and friends to make the
case to Congress
that the explosion of marketing to children demands a
national response.

SCEC’s call for national standards at http://www.commercialexploitation.com/standards.htm
